Bring That Back: Hood-Film Classics

Why is there a lack in hood films being produced? Sure we've had some great releases recently but what happened to the inspiration that directors had in the 90's? I feel like we've been missing those cult-classic-esque hood films, you know. I'm not gonna lie, “Straight Outta Compton” was maad and “Dope” was a great film but that's not enough, we need more! I remember as a child I was always stuck between what I should watch, there was too much option - which isn't a bad thing. Look at the amount of classics there were, come on, we've had “Belly”,  multiple ‘Fridays’, “Menace II Society”, “New Jack City” and “Boyz N The Hood” to name a small few because there’s a lot that I’m missing. People, how many times have we watched these films over and over, turning lines in jokes, reenacting scenes or referencing characters on a daily basis. Hood films need to be brought back! A revival is overdue, until then I'ma be sipping my tea waiting on the Tupac “All Eyez On Me” biopic to drop, watch the trailer below:
