When you think of Rihanna a few things are likely to come to mind; good girl gone bad vibes, dope vocals, banging body (pree her Instagram a few times and it’ll become a habit) and last but definitely not least, you’d think about her fashion choices. For years Rihanna has noticeably been a trend setter whether it be through her own personal fashion choices, like when we all wanted red hair (yes I tried it myself) or through her endorsements that seem to clear from the shelves the moment they hit. Rihanna has worked with the likes of Armani, Dior, TopShop and Manolo Blahnik which doesn't even cover all of her fashion empire and PUMA x Fenty is just another one of those sell out collaborations, which I would argue demonstrates the power of RiRi, I mean, no offence Puma but no one was really checkin for you before the Rihanna collaboration and yet the first Fenty Creeper release sold out in a matter of minutes.
The Fenty Creeper, one of the trainers released in the collection between Rihanna and Puma, was shipped out for the second time earlier this year introducing new colour ways to the edgy mix. Rihanna brought us two new suede editions - the luxe Green-Bordeaux Creeper and the classic Black Satin Creeper that hosts suede with satin detailing along the silhouette’s Puma formstripe and the third, a brand new patent leather all White addition. The model brings a unique twist to Puma’s classic trainer which goes hand in hand with the singers ability to always bring us that new. Along side this release we saw her Fenty slides come to life after months of enviously watching her rock the furry slippers.
In February, days before her 28th Birthday, Rihanna debuted her own clothing collection at New York Fashion Week; the fall ready-to-wear 2016 PUMA x Fenty collaboration, but it is yet to the hit the stores. The sexy, dark, androgynous collection features thigh high patents boots, oversized fur hoodies and cut away catsuits just to name a few items. As usual the singer shows her uncanny ability to take something exciting like the Sports Lux trend and push it forward with new spirit. The Garms aren’t in stores yet but you can catch Bad Gal Riri wearing them about town for the time being. I better start saving up those coins because I’m pretty sure they’ll be more than a few items i’ll be wanting to order judging by the runway show and you know the Bajan beauty doesn’t play with her money (BBHMM is enough evidence). Have a look through some of the collection below to get you excited for your fall wardrobe and listen to ‘Phresh Out the Runway’ while you do it - it’s just too fitting.
